A Decade of Emergency Care in Lubbock
Since opening in 2016, STAR ER has remained committed to giving the Lubbock community convenient access to emergency medical services close to home.
Located at 7007 Indiana Avenue in Lubbock, STAR ER is a freestanding emergency room open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No appointment is required, allowing patients to seek medical attention whenever an unexpected illness or injury occurs.
STAR ER provides pediatric and adult emergency care for a wide range of medical concerns, including chest pain, breathing difficulties, abdominal pain, neurologic symptoms, orthopedic injuries, lacerations, traumatic injuries, and toxic ingestions.
The facility is equipped with diagnostic services that help physicians evaluate patients and determine an appropriate treatment plan. These capabilities include CT imaging, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and full laboratory panels.
Having emergency physicians, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory testing available in one location allows the STAR ER team to respond to a variety of emergency medical needs at any hour of the day or night.
“Celebrating 10 years is a meaningful milestone for everyone who has been part of STAR ER,” said Dale Curtis, M.D., Medical Director of STAR ER. “Our physicians and clinical team understand the responsibility that comes with caring for patients during an emergency. We are grateful for the trust the Lubbock community has placed in us, and we remain committed to providing every patient with attentive, dependable, and compassionate care.”
Recognizing the People Behind the Care
The 10-year anniversary represents more than the amount of time STAR ER has served Lubbock. It also reflects the commitment of the physicians, nurses, radiology professionals, Patient Access Specialists, emergency medical personnel, and support employees who have cared for patients throughout the facility’s history.
Every patient who enters STAR ER arrives with a different concern and a different story. Some require immediate evaluation for a serious medical condition, while others are seeking answers, reassurance, and relief from an unexpected illness or injury.
The STAR ER team works to make each patient feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the visit. This patient focused approach has helped the facility build meaningful relationships with individuals and families across the Lubbock community.
The anniversary also provided an opportunity to recognize former and current employees whose dedication has contributed to the facility’s growth and continued service.
Continuing a Commitment to the Community
Community involvement has remained an important part of STAR ER’s presence in Lubbock. The facility has supported local events, organizations, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives while developing relationships with area businesses and emergency response agencies.
These partnerships help residents become more familiar with the emergency healthcare resources available in their community. They also create opportunities for healthcare professionals, first responders, and community leaders to work together in support of the people they collectively serve.
“STAR ER’s 10-year anniversary celebrates the trust that has been built between the facility and the Lubbock community,” said George Reainthong, Director of Marketing & Growth for Complete Care. “That trust has been earned through years of compassionate patient care, dedicated employees, and meaningful relationships with local businesses and emergency response organizations. We are grateful to everyone who helped celebrate this milestone and to every patient who has chosen STAR ER for their emergency care.”
As STAR ER begins its next decade of service, the facility remains committed to providing timely, dependable, and compassionate emergency care while continuing to strengthen its relationships throughout Lubbock and the surrounding communities.
