Complete Care is proud to announce the appointment of Shawna Smith, RN, BSN, as Executive Director of Nursing. With nearly three decades of healthcare experience and over 25 years in clinical leadership, Shawna brings a strong foundation in emergency care, operational excellence, and patient-centered leadership to the organization.
A Fort Worth native, Shawna earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University. She began her career in emergency medicine at Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center, where she developed extensive experience in high acuity patient care within a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Throughout her career, Shawna has held progressive leadership roles, including Supervisor, Manager, and Director of Emergency Services, where she oversaw clinical operations, staffing strategy, and patient care delivery across complex healthcare environments. Her leadership scope has included oversight of multiple departments such as emergency services, patient safety, risk and quality, infection control, and hospital compliance.
She later served as Director of Nursing at USMD, where she led hospital-wide initiatives focused on patient safety, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. During her tenure, her leadership helped achieve zero nursing deficiencies during a Joint Commission survey, reflecting a strong commitment to clinical excellence and quality standards.
Shawna also served as Client Service Vice President at SCP Health and CS Partners, where she worked closely with healthcare systems to support joint ventures, improve provider alignment, and enhance operational performance across multiple facilities. Her experience includes deep expertise in patient experience strategy, including Press Ganey performance, patient satisfaction improvement, and data-driven quality initiatives.
In her role as Executive Director of Nursing, Shawna will focus on strengthening clinical standards, supporting nursing teams across all locations, and ensuring a consistent and high-quality patient care experience throughout Complete Care.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Shawna enjoys traveling and frequently visits Cabo, where she spends time scuba diving. She is also working toward her goal of visiting all 50 states, having completed 28 so far.
