TLC Complete Care Partners with American Heart Association to Expand CPR Education and Emergency Preparedness in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, TX — June 2026

TLC Complete Care recently partnered with the American Heart Association’s Heart of Corpus Christi campaign to promote bystander CPR education and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) awareness during a community outreach event held at a Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game.

As part of the initiative, TLC Complete Care helped provide 161 CPR Anytime® training kits and educational materials to community members, supporting efforts to increase CPR knowledge and emergency preparedness throughout the Coastal Bend. Organizers estimate the training kits could ultimately help educate more than 500 individuals when shared among family members, friends, and neighboring households.

The event coincided with ongoing efforts by the American Heart Association to increase public awareness of sudden cardiac arrest, CPR training, and AED use. More than 3,000 attendees received messaging about the importance of recognizing cardiac emergencies and taking immediate action when every second counts. According to the American Heart Association, prompt bystander CPR can significantly improve survival outcomes for victims of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Representing TLC Complete Care at the event was Ann Marie, Regional Marketing Liaison who joined American Heart Association volunteers in educating attendees and encouraging families to learn lifesaving CPR skills.

“At TLC Complete Care, we believe community healthcare extends beyond the walls of our emergency room,” said Ann Marie. “Providing CPR education and increasing awareness about cardiac emergencies helps empower individuals to act with confidence when faced with a life-threatening situation. We are proud to partner with the American Heart Association and support initiatives that can save lives throughout Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend.”

Amy Snell Canterbury, Development Director for the American Heart Association’s Heart of Corpus Christi campaign, recognized TLC Complete Care’s support and participation in the event.

“We are incredibly grateful for TLC Complete Care’s continued partnership and commitment to our community,” said Canterbury. “The CPR Anytime kits distributed during the event have the potential to create hundreds of new lifesavers throughout South Texas. Community partners like TLC Complete Care help us extend our reach and prepare more people to respond during cardiac emergencies.”

The event also highlighted a recent local cardiac emergency survival story recognized by the American Heart Association, demonstrating the critical role bystander CPR can play in saving lives. During the event, attendees learned how immediate action by a bystander and emergency dispatcher guidance contributed to a successful outcome for a local family.

As a community healthcare provider and freestanding emergency room serving Corpus Christi, TLC Complete Care remains committed to supporting health education, emergency preparedness, community outreach programs, and partnerships that strengthen the health and safety of the communities it serves.
