Community outreach event helps equip Brooks Running team members with lifesaving CPR and AED skills in San Antonio.
SAN ANTONIO, TX – JUNE 2026
Complete Care Brooks City Base recently partnered with Brooks Running to provide CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training for employees as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to community outreach and emergency preparedness.
The training was held on June 4, 2026, at the Brooks Running location in San Antonio, where approximately 15 employees participated in hands-on CPR and AED instruction led by the Complete Care Brooks City Base & Republic team.
During the training, participants learned how to recognize the signs of sudden cardiac arrest, perform high-quality CPR, properly operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and respond confidently during a medical emergency while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.
Emergency preparedness training is an important part of creating safer workplaces. According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR combined with the use of an AED can significantly improve survival rates following sudden cardiac arrest, making community education and preparedness critical in saving lives.
“At Complete Care, we believe emergency care doesn’t begin when someone arrives at our emergency room. It begins by educating our community and helping people feel prepared to respond when an emergency happens,” said Laurie Lerma, Regional Marketing Liaison for Complete Care Brooks City Base. “Teaching CPR and AED skills is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back because these are lifesaving skills that anyone may need to use to help a family member, friend, coworker, or even a stranger. We’re grateful to Brooks Running for partnering with us and making emergency preparedness a priority.”

The CPR and AED training is one of many community outreach initiatives offered by Complete Care throughout Texas and Colorado. In addition to providing 24-hour emergency care, Complete Care regularly partners with schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, youth groups, and community organizations to deliver CPR education, health and safety presentations, and emergency preparedness training.
Complete Care Brooks City Base remains committed to supporting the San Antonio community through educational programs that promote safety, preparedness, and healthier communities while helping individuals gain lifesaving skills that can make a difference when every second counts.
