Complete Care and Republic EMS partnered with Corpus Christi Independent School District to provide HeartSaver and CPR training for 60 teachers, coaches, and staff members at Mary Carroll High School on August 6, 2026.
The class was open to CCISD employees from all schools and departments, giving participants an opportunity to develop practical CPR skills and strengthen their ability to respond during a cardiac emergency. The training was part of an ongoing partnership focused on supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students, employees, and visitors across the school district.
CPR preparedness is especially important in schools, where teachers, coaches, and other staff members may be among the first people available to respond when an emergency occurs. Early recognition, activation of emergency medical services, and immediate CPR can help sustain blood flow until trained medical professionals arrive.
According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest. Providing school personnel with CPR education helps build confidence, supports faster action, and strengthens emergency preparedness throughout the campus community.
