SAN ANTONIO, TX — October 2026
Complete Care Brooks City Base provided flu vaccinations during a community clinic hosted at the Brooks Home Office in San Antonio on October 19, 2026. The event brought together local organizational leaders and staff, offering convenient access to seasonal vaccination while strengthening connections within the Brooks community.
Laurie Lerma, Complete Care’s San Antonio Regional Marketing Liaison, and Josefina Obregon, the clinical leader at Complete Care Brooks City Base, represented the facility. Alongside flu vaccinations, the team provided snacks, an information table, and photo opportunities with props, creating a welcoming setting for participants.
Attendees included Connie Gonzalez, Chief Strategy Officer at Brooks; Rebecca Viagran, President and CEO of the South Texas Business Partnership; and Cecile Montañez of the South Texas Business Partnership, along with staff members.
“Community involvement starts with showing up and finding practical ways to help,” said Laurie Lerma. “This clinic gave us an opportunity to make flu vaccinations more convenient while connecting with our neighbors at Brooks. We’re grateful to support the health of the people who help our community thrive.”
Josefina brought clinical leadership to the outreach effort, supporting an event focused on prevention and wellness. Her participation reflects the contribution clinical teams can make beyond the emergency room by bringing healthcare resources into the places where people work and gather.
Flu vaccination helps reduce the risk of influenza and its potentially serious complications. Although vaccination does not prevent every infection, it can reduce the severity of illness in people who become sick. Community flu clinics make this preventive step more accessible by offering vaccinations in a familiar setting without the need to arrange a separate visit.
Giving back also creates opportunities to listen and better understand community needs. For Complete Care Brooks City Base, participating in the clinic was a practical way to support local organizations and build relationships through personal interaction and service.
The event demonstrated how community involvement can connect people with preventive healthcare while encouraging conversations about wellness and local healthcare resources. Through these efforts, Complete Care Brooks City Base supports the San Antonio community beyond its role as a freestanding emergency room providing 24-hour emergency care.
