LAKEWAY, TX — October 2026
Complete Care Lakeway facilitated a Heartsaver CPR and AED training class for 14 staff members at Cornerstone Church in Lakeway, Texas. All participants received certification following instruction covering adult, child, and infant CPR, automated external defibrillator use, and choking response.
The class began with a community visit by Shauna Tripp, Complete Care’s Austin Regional Marketing Liaison. After introducing the CPR training opportunity to the church, Shauna worked with Natalie Paxton of the church office to arrange the session.
“Sometimes a simple introduction opens the door to something meaningful for the community,” said Shauna Tripp. “We’re grateful Natalie helped bring this class together and that the staff made time to learn skills they could use to help someone in an emergency.”
Natalie served as the church contact, working with Shauna to coordinate the training for staff. Her involvement helped turn an outreach conversation into a practical learning opportunity for the Cornerstone Church team.
Sergio, the instructor from Republic EMS, led participants through CPR techniques, AED use, and responses to choking emergencies. Participants shared positive feedback and expressed appreciation for the class.
CPR and AED training is especially valuable in places where people of different ages gather. Church staff may encounter an emergency during services, meetings, or other activities. Training helps prepare them to recognize a cardiac arrest, call 911, begin CPR, and use an AED while emergency responders are on the way.
Immediate CPR helps maintain blood flow during cardiac arrest, while an AED can identify certain abnormal heart rhythms and deliver a shock when needed. Learning these skills gives community members a practical way to help during the critical minutes before professional care arrives.
For Complete Care Lakeway, community involvement means building relationships and connecting local organizations with useful healthcare education. Supporting CPR training is one way to give back, helping people develop skills they can carry into their workplaces, homes, and everyday lives.
The class reflects Complete Care Lakeway’s commitment to community outreach alongside its role as a freestanding emergency room providing 24-hour emergency care. By helping Cornerstone Church staff prepare for emergencies, the team supported a stronger network of people ready to respond when someone needs help.
