Complete Care Lakeway recently participated in a Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn focused on Heartsaver CPR and AED training. The training took place Wednesday, August 19, at Covert Auto Group, located at 16501 Sweetwater Village Drive in Austin.
The community education program brought together bankers, business owners, account managers, community relations professionals, and other local leaders interested in becoming better prepared for medical emergencies in the workplace and throughout the community.
Twelve individuals participated in the training, with 10 completing the requirements for Heartsaver CPR and AED certification. Participants received instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator use, and responding when someone is choking.
Kristina, an emergency medical technician with Republic EMS, led the training and provided participants with practical guidance they can use if an emergency occurs before professional medical assistance arrives.

Representatives from Security State Bank & Trust and Boston Scientific also participated in the Lunch and Learn. Karen Shultz, President and CEO of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, helped support the Chamber’s continued efforts to provide valuable educational opportunities for members of the local business community.
CPR education is especially valuable in workplaces and public settings because cardiac emergencies can happen without warning. Early intervention can help support a person until emergency medical professionals arrive and assume care.
