LAKEWAY, TX — September 2026
Complete Care Lakeway recently provided a Community CPR and AED training class at Orangetheory Fitness in Lakeway, helping participants build the skills and confidence needed to respond during a cardiac emergency.
The training was held at Orangetheory Fitness, located at 1516 Ranch Road 620 South, Suite 100, in Lakeway. Approximately 10 participants took part in the class, which focused on CPR and the proper use of an automated external defibrillator, commonly known as an AED.
CPR and AED preparedness can be especially valuable in fitness environments, where people regularly participate in physically demanding activities that increase heart rate and cardiovascular workload. While exercise provides important health benefits, a cardiac emergency can occur unexpectedly, making it important for people in gyms and fitness facilities to know how to recognize an emergency and respond quickly.
When someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, the actions taken during the first few minutes can be critical. CPR helps maintain blood circulation, while an AED can analyze the heart rhythm and deliver a shock when appropriate. Having people nearby who are familiar with these lifesaving measures can help strengthen emergency preparedness while professional medical assistance is on the way.
Complete Care Lakeway facilitated CPR and AED training as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts. The class provided participants with practical education designed to help them feel more prepared if they encounter a cardiac emergency at the gym, at home, or elsewhere in the community.
“Fitness facilities bring people together to improve their health every day, so knowing what to do when an unexpected emergency occurs is incredibly valuable. Providing CPR and AED education is one way we can take our commitment to emergency care beyond the walls of our facility and help our community become better prepared to respond.”

Amy Dusatko, an instructor and coach at Orangetheory Fitness, helped support the Community CPR event and the opportunity to bring the training into the fitness environment.
“Having CPR and AED knowledge in a fitness setting gives our team and community another level of preparedness,” said Amy Dusatko, Instructor and Coach at Orangetheory Fitness. “We hope no one ever has to use these skills, but understanding how to respond can make a meaningful difference when someone needs help.”
The Community CPR class also reflects the relationship between Complete Care Lakeway and organizations throughout the Lakeway community. By working with local businesses and community partners, Complete Care can help extend emergency education beyond the emergency room and provide practical skills that participants can carry with them into their everyday lives.
Complete Care Lakeway provides 24-hour emergency care for patients experiencing medical emergencies and continues to support community education and preparedness through outreach initiatives such as CPR and AED training.
