TLC Complete Care was honored to welcome Todd Hunter, State Representative for Texas House District 32 and Chair of the House Calendars Committee, for a comprehensive tour of the facility and a meaningful discussion on healthcare access, emergency services, and community support initiatives in the Corpus Christi region.
During his visit, Representative Hunter met with Complete Care’s leadership and team members to learn more about the critical role freestanding emergency rooms play in providing timely, high-quality emergency care. The TLC Complete Care team showcased the services that set the facility apart, including 24/7 emergency care, advanced diagnostics such as CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound, and laboratory services, as well as a patient-centered approach designed to deliver hospital-level treatment without the long wait times often associated with traditional hospital emergency departments.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss key healthcare topics impacting patients across Texas, including current Medicare limitations and the need for freestanding emergency rooms to participate in government insurance programs. Expanding access to these programs would allow facilities like TLC Complete Care to serve a broader patient population and ensure more individuals have access to high-quality emergency care when they need it most.
As a longtime advocate for the Corpus Christi community and healthcare accessibility, Representative Hunter’s visit highlighted the importance of ongoing conversations around improving patient access and supporting healthcare providers across the state.
In addition to discussing clinical care and patient access, TLC Complete Care shared the organization’s commitment to community involvement through partnerships, outreach initiatives, educational programs such as CPR classes and flu clinics, and support of local schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
Complete Care leadership also discussed broader legislative priorities and industry advocacy efforts through the National Association of Freestanding Emergency Centers, where Rob Morris serves in a leadership role, helping advance awareness and legislative priorities for freestanding emergency centers nationwide. Through his work with NAFEC, Morris continues to advocate for fair reimbursement, regulatory support, and expanded access to emergency care for patients seeking treatment outside of traditional hospital systems.
