TLC Complete Care partnered with Republic EMS to provide Heartsaver CPR certification training for 30 teachers from Yorktown Early Learning Center in Corpus Christi.
The community education class was held at Yorktown Early Learning Center, located at 5025 Yorktown Boulevard. The training was part of a community partnership focused on emergency preparedness, education, and supporting teachers who care for young children.
Christian Johnson of Republic EMS led the Heartsaver CPR training. All 30 participating teachers completed the course and received certification.
CPR training is especially important in early learning environments, where teachers may be among the first people available to respond during a cardiac emergency. Immediate CPR helps maintain blood flow until emergency medical professionals arrive and can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest, according to the American Heart Association. By becoming certified, Yorktown Early Learning teachers gained practical skills and greater confidence to respond when every second matters.

Ann Marie Bellows helped coordinate the community outreach initiative on behalf of TLC Complete Care. The class reflected Complete Care’s continued commitment to building local partnerships and expanding access to emergency response education throughout Corpus Christi.
