VIK Complete Care Brings Community CPR and AED Training to Laura Bush Community Library in Austin

AUSTIN, TX — September 2026

VIK Complete Care recently partnered with the Laura Bush Community Library to provide Community CPR and AED training, helping equip library staff with lifesaving skills and strengthening emergency preparedness within the Austin community.

The training was held on September 19th, at the Laura Bush Community Library, located at 9411 Bee Caves Road in Austin, where 15 participants received CPR and AED certification. The class was facilitated by VIK Complete Care with instruction provided by Jared with Republic EMS.

Libraries serve as important gathering places within their communities, welcoming children, families, seniors, students, and other visitors throughout the day. Because library employees regularly interact with such a broad cross-section of the public, CPR and AED training can extend emergency preparedness beyond the workplace and into the community. Having trained individuals in public spaces can help ensure someone is prepared to respond during the critical moments before emergency medical services arrive.

During sudden cardiac arrest, immediate action can be critical. CPR helps maintain blood circulation, while an AED can analyze the heart rhythm and deliver a shock when appropriate. Providing CPR and AED education throughout the community helps more people develop the knowledge and confidence to recognize an emergency and provide assistance until professional medical help arrives.

Roxanna Macaraeg, Director of the Laura Bush Community Library, worked with VIK Complete Care to coordinate the training opportunity for the library.

“Our library welcomes people of all ages every day, and being prepared to respond during an emergency is another way we can help support the community we serve. Having members of our team trained in CPR and AED use gives them valuable skills that can make a difference when someone needs immediate help.”

“CPR and AED education is one of the most meaningful ways we can support the communities we serve because these are skills people can carry with them wherever they go,” said Shauna Tripp, Regional Marketing Liaison for VIK Complete Care. “Whether someone is at a library, school, workplace, gym, or at home, having people nearby who know how to respond can make an important difference during those first critical moments.”

Community CPR and AED training is part of VIK Complete Care’s continued outreach throughout the Austin area. By working with local organizations and Republic EMS, VIK Complete Care can bring practical emergency preparedness education directly into the places where people live, work, and gather.
