Dale P. Curtis, MD.

Dr. Dale P. Curtis serves as Medical Director of STAR ER in Lubbock and brings 34 years of emergency medicine experience to the West Texas community. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison and completed a transitional internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center through Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He later completed his emergency medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Curtis is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

His clinical interests include trauma care, emergency medical services, and public health. Dr. Curtis is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and has served as a medical director for 10 years. He approaches every patient with compassion, attentiveness, and respect. Outside of medicine, Dr. Curtis enjoys creating his own scrub tops, a hobby he finds therapeutic and one that is appreciated by both patients and staff.

Star ER is a designated safe baby site under Texas law, meaning parents who are unable to care for a newborn can safely and anonymously leave their infant with our staff, no questions asked. As long as the baby is 60 days old or younger and unharmed, our team will provide immediate medical care and ensure the child is placed with the proper emergency provider, and the parent will not face prosecution for abandonment or neglect.
