Tom Dorrell, MD is committed to providing Padre residents and the surrounding communities the highest quality in emergency care. Dr. Dorrell has been providing medical care to his neighbors since 2003 where he served as the Medical Director/Owner of The Medical Center. With his extensive background in Emergency Medicine it is with great honor to offer the community an full service emergency room without leaving The Island and most importantly without the long wait times found in a typical hospital ER. Designated Safe Baby Location
If you have a newborn that you’re unable to care for, you can bring your baby to a designated safe place with no questions asked. Under the Baby Moses Law, parents are allowed to surrender their babies younger than 60 days at a hospital, fire station, free standing emergency center, or EMS station. You can find this law in the Texas Family Code, Chapter 262, Sub-chapter D. Emergency Possession of Certain Abandoned Children.
